Call for Papers, 2020 NBER Conference on the Economics of AI

NBER Call for Papers -- Economics of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The fourth annual NBER Economics of AI conference will now be held virtually on 24-25 September 2020. Papers and video from the 2019 conference are available

We seek papers on topics related to the economics of AI, including (but not limited to):

•  The impact of AI on business practices and government policy
•  The adoption and diffusion of AI
•  How AI might impact on the labour market (including via automation)
•  AI and inequality
•  Macroeconomic impact of AI
•  The regulation of AI
•  Privacy and security of AI
•  AI and discrimination
•  AI and education
•  The use of AI to improve decision-making
•  The use of machine learning in economics
•  Market design with AI

Papers may be original research or overviews providing a research agenda.

Submissions must be received no later than May 31, 2020. We welcome early submissions.

We would appreciate it if you could pass this call for papers on to colleagues who might be interested, but who may not be on the Bureau's mailing list and we encourage submissions by scholars who are early in their careers and who are from groups that are underrepresented in the economics profession.
